Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't believe the Manastash trails (String, Tripod, etc) ever "close" for the winter months. They do groom the main road once you get a little beyond Ryders Camp, so that area of the Manastash does indeed close off to vehicles, but the main entrance ...

If memory serves me, it seems Manastash/Naches doesn't open until mid July. However, with the mild winter I was wondering if the opening date has been adjusted/modified. Anyone have any info on this?

Just a guess, but, seems to me you don't care much for the 35, Trashed One...you're not alone, I can see that. The 44/35/8.8 thing sure seems to stir things up on the various forums! Out of those options the only one worth it's weight in scrap iron is the 44. the 8.8 has a decent aftermarket support but it is still not a great axle overall. The 35 is pure and utter trash but the 44 is a good balance of ring & pinion, stock carrier, housing and stock shaft strengths. And it ...

Save your money and put it towards a 8.8 or D44. As for the super 35, yea, maybe the shafts don't break but it will find the next weak link and be even more destructive. By the way, what IS "the next week" link in the D35 chain in your opinion? Tubes/housings? Ring/Pinion? All of the above?

Ground clearance isn't my reasoning to keep the D35. My D30 on KM2's/33's has only 10-3/8" clearance (with 28psi) at the pumpkin . At 10psi it's a little less, though I never thought to measure it.
