Very Unique Scout

1977 Terra Extended Cab 4bt Cummins

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

One of a kind truck! Originally a terra, but I moved the bulkhead back and built the top from three Scout II tops. It has a ~4" bed and a back seat. New quarter panels, body mounts, rockers and floors a few years back. Inside of tub coated with Durabak but it hasn't held up that well. Engine is a cummins 4bt 3.9l four cylinder turbo diesel with a 3200 rpm governor spring and 3" exhaust. Engine is mated to a ford ZF wide ratio 5 speed transmisson and a NP205 transfer case. Axles are dana 44s. The front is a wagoneer housing with IH outers to keep the stock bolt pattern. Rear axle is the original. Both have 3.54 gears with trac-lok diffs. With 33" tires and the overdrive transmission it does great on the freeway and has lots of torque off road. It is SOA with stock springs, rides great! Has custom bumpers with a 12k Milemarker hydraulic winch with receivers front and rear. Tires have great tread. Very reliable. I drive it daily and I would not hesitate to drive it anywhere, anytime. I usually get 25 mpg on the highway! It currently has a damaged endcap and tailgate but I will get those replaced and painted in the next couple weeks. $8500.

Cory Smith in Spokane is builder/owner of this critter. He's the kid who put the 4BT Cummins in Nick's Scout.
