dunno, maybe its just me. I paid 3500 (from a dealer) for my '92 4.0 YJ 6 years ago. It had no mechanical issues and a hard top.

Passed on a '92 Sahara awhile back for $1500 that needed some engine work (supposedly just a timing chain...). It was a hard top too.

Its not terribly uncommon to see YJs for under $3500 these days if you watch CL regularly.
