Yep. . .El Chivo is for sale. This truck has helped provide 10 lifetimes of memories, but it is time to move on.
Specs:
2006 Ford Ranger FX4 Level 2
Less than 5000 total miles
Legal for Class 7100, 7s, 7sx, 7200, 7, 1500, Group T, and I'm sure a few others I'm missing.
Mods: FULL 4130 cage from bumper to bumper. All original cage is TIG welded by Die Cast Sandcar's welding prodigy. The rest is all Josefab. . .
Engine: SOHC 4.0 from a Mustang (so you know it is fast). Flow through fuel system modification to prevent deadhead vapor lock. Throttle body spacer, huge UMP air filter under the dash, full race fuel pressure regulators and redundant $$$ Bosch fuel pumps that suck from a 20 gallon midship race cell.
Tranny: Full race forward manual valve body C4. Custom 2 piece driveshaft.
Rearend: Exporer 31 spline, alloy shafts, Disc Brakes, 6.14 gears and a race prepped Yukon LSD. It only unlocks when the alternative is breaking.
Rear Suspension: Deaver leaves and 3", triple bypass Sway A Ways. 16" Wheel travel, well controled and dead nuts stable at speed.
Front suspension: Camburg 6.0 kit with fabricated uprights, uniball upper, reinforced lower a-arm and double 2.5" Sway A Way Triple By-Pass Shocks (yes, 4 huge shocks in the front). 10" of EXTREMELY well controlled travel. It handles like a race car.
Cooling: V8 Explorer radiator, PS Cooler, 2 Tranny coolers ($$$) with remote filter, one giant engine oil cooler with fan and remote filter. It took YEARS to get this right, but it runs cool and fast even in 100+ outside temps.
Interior: MasterCraft seats, NEW DJ Safety 5 Points, window nets with push button latches, secondary door latches, flameout system, full gauge package for the passenger (Driver only has a tach. . .cuz. . .well. . .Racecar) Space in the extended cab for all the parts/tool storage you would ever need. Race radio (if you can talk the radio guys into keeping the sponsorship. . .we'll help. Heck, it even has a dome light.
Exterior: It is sliver. Needs new rear glass. No bed or anything. High $$ bling overhead light bar. 4 Eagle eye HIDs on the bumper but one got broke out nerfing a slow unlimited car (see video). Dual spare tire mounts, shovel mounts, Alternator mount. Lots of cage to weld other things too. . .
Tires/Wheels: It will come with the General Tires that are on it (no spares unless the price is RIGHT) on Raceline's Jeepspeed wheels. ABS is deleted, 4 wheel discs, adjustable proportioning valve. . .etc.
What it needs. Well. . .It just got 2nd place in the MINT 400. I felt like it could have gone another 400 as is. . .but, it will need a full prep and a tiny bit of fab/repair along with new rear glass before it races again.
If you are serious and have $$ in your pocket, I will take you for a test ride. Trust me. . .if you ride one lap in this truck, you will take it home with you even though it needs a prep. It flat our RAILs and it is now quite reliable.
IF WE WERE TO KEEP IT> > >It would get a long travel front end with fabbed tie rods, etc. and a wider rearend. This would simply smooth out the ride a little. It is highly competitive as it sits in 7100/7s/7sx/1500 RIGHT NOW.
We understand that we will never get our money out of this thing. It would cost between $60k and $100k to reproduce it depending on who did the fab work. It is simply time to move on. We have plans, but those plans are ours.
Also, this truck would likely come with a crew of willing volunteers, co-drivers, and drivers. . .heck, if you decided that you wanted to win a race, I'd be happy to drive for you.
(a little joke there).
Watch the video and break out your wallet. Don't ask me how much it costs unless you want to own it. Trust me on this though. . .it is FAR less that we paid and FAR FAR FAR less than it is worth.
