Yeah, it's still up for sale. They want $750 bucks for it though. Found an AX15 in Spokane for 300, and one in Seattle w/ 231 for 550. Waiting to hear back from the owners.

I might be able to make things cheaper that way. In fact, I think I can even get gears for the Dana 53 and 44. The problem is my concern that the current transmission won't be up to the 350 I'm going to be bolting in. It's a T90 that's already making noises. I do have two spare T90's in the barn. I guess I could just swap them out as they break.
So yeah, I could regear, or swap axles, and then drop in a stronger 1:1 manual of some sort.
However, build time is largely a factor here. I can probably pay for the difference faster by working more and getting paid than all the running around and shop time to swap axles / re-gear in addition to trans swap.
If I have just a trans to swap, I can bolt it all up in a day and then get drivelines adapted to fit within a week.
