Looking for a 3rd gen Toyota (91 to be specific) p/u short bed box, with tailgate and taillight housings. Need the tail lights too if possible. Currently have a tube bed, and wanting to go back to a standard bed.

I've got a tailgate your welcome to have. Not perfect but functional. I'm pretty sure I have all the hardware too.

That turns out to be a life-saver!! :) Another person up in Yakima has the bed, but no tailgate! :) So I'm in the process now of arranging with him for a time and place to pick that up. and now I need to do the same with you for those parts. PM is on the way! :)

Well when I get a reply back from him and get the particulars worked out with him and see how it goes, then I'll get back with you and see when you intend on heading to the area. :)

Thankyou for the reply!! :)

I've got a beat up bed on it now with lots of bondo and primer grey on it. :D But that's okay since it's just a trail rig anyway.

However I'm on the lookout for either a 2nd or 3rd gen extended cab now. More room is nice. :D But need something that has a clear title, so I can swap stuff around.

I've got a buddy that just picked up a 86 x-cab that he's planning on parting out. I think the interior is trashed but teh cab is sound. I'll know more when I lay my eye's on it.

If I can facilitate the deal do I get first crack at your cab?

Need to see what he has. If the instrument cluster and all that isn't there then I wouldn't be interested. I'm really not into doing a major reconstruction on the Toyota, but would like to find something that was in decent shape, minus the trans, xfer case, front/rear axle housings, as I'd like to take the stuff I have and put in it. I'l like a 3rd gen ext cab really, but I know those are hard to get yet as the price is still up on them. So if I go for a 2nd gen, then I need the eng, unless I get into swapping out the FI engine out of the 91. I do have the advance adapter and clutch stuff though that I could do a 4.3 in a 2nd gen. So it's one of those play by ear things. And yes, if I get something else to stuff my running gear into, you can have first crack at the 91 reg cab.

Just out of curiosity, would you just be wanting the cab to stuff on another frame? Cause I've got a lot of work into my frame with the SAS. However, as I learned years ago, lots of stuff on this planet is negotiable!

If anything all I'd want is the body, I have another frame to build off of.

The truck is all there but it sat with a window down or broken out for awhile. It's complete as it sits now so it wouldn't be a biggy. Your engine will be fine in an older chassis, you'd just have to change a few sensors that have different plugs on them for the older stuff and it'd drop right in.

Laymon has a 4.3 that has a spun bearing but is otherwise in fine shape he's probably let go cheap... Might have a line on a blazer with a low mile 4.3 too... I'll find out if ya like. :)

So is the gen 2 ext cab located locally where I could take a look at it?

Yup, I think it's up at his house in Patterson. I know he just bought it a few weeks ago and was talking about bringing it home then.. I'll find out.

Find out what he's wanting for the thing before he starts selling stuff off it.

He bought it for the trans and case beings its a turbo truck. I'll see what he wants for the rest of it.

Just got off the horn with him. He wants $150 for the body with doors, bed and front clip. At least one door needs glass but the rest of it is intact. He said the doors are pretty rough and most likely would need to be replaced as it looks like someone tried to break in the hard way. It has a factory sunroof that is cracked but doesn't leak. He's keeping the gauge cluster and computer as it is turbo exclusive stuff. The truck was fully optioned from the factory, power everything including mirrors and all that stuff is still there. It'll have the master cylinder and all that stuff still attached, same with the column etc.

He hasn't started stripping it down as of yet but he's talking about starting on it next week.

I'll just keep on looking for a complete thing less the running gear, but thankyou for checking in to it for me! :)
