Update for the Jeep Chair Project: While Brian finished the welds for Chair 1 on Sunday, Lee and I fabricated most of the parts for a second chair. Brain volunteered to take the Chair 2 parts home and assemble them. He'll have a bit of fab work to complete.

I scuffed and cleaned the frame for Chair 1 this afternoon.

Afterwards, I sprayed it with 1 can of Rustoleum 2X semi-gloss. Tomorrow, I will re-installed the grill and continue the work on the seat.

A little more progress on Chair 1. I pickup enough oak slats to finish chair 1 an chair 2. After a bunch on sanding and measuring, the slats were cut,
test fitted for a picture and then covered with the first coat of Spar Varnish. Right or Wrong, I chose not to stain them. The Spar Varnish will
darken them a over time. After more sanding, coating, and sanding the slats, the last step for Chair 1is to drill and screw the slats using self tapping screws that Brain provided.

Yeah, I imagine it is expensive. It was mostly for inspiration.

I actually might have something that could bolt on. What size is the tube?

Pretty much complete. Just have to screw down the slate after the last coat of clear is completely dry.

Work has started on the third chair. Hopefully the lessons learned on the first 1 and 1/2 chairs will help make this one the best.

Chair 1 and Chair 2 are for sale. Chair 3 maybe spoken for.

Chair 1 needs a better arm rest modification that I hope to do this week. Chair 2 is at Brian's place and needs welding. I need to get it back from him non-welded so that I can bend better arm rest and lengthen the grill height pieces. Chair 3 needs paint... it all prepped. I just need to heat the shop and rattle some cans.

I have at least $80 in each one (receipts are on the shop wall). I suggest selling them to club members for at least $180 ($80 for me and $100 for the Club). Scumby donated the grills with the intent of benefiting the Club. It would nice to recognize his generosity...

Chair three is bought and my generous wife (she bought it for me) is sick of tripping over it in the living room, or is she sick of tripping over me sitting in it? Nice piece of work!

Had some old headlights in a drawer. Add a bit of aluminum foil to clean up the rusty chrome and here you go.

Spent $20 on some lamp parts. That'l give me a power cord, switch, sockets, and a couple LED bulbs to replace the filaments in the headlights.

aren't those glass headlights? are you just going to hack the back of the bulb to get the new sockets in?

Yep, glass. The scrooge plan is to hack the back off. I have lots of old headlights I can attempt it on. If that fails I'll just buy a cheap 30 dollar set made for H4's.

Was gonna hack of the back with a tile saw, but found a diamond hole saw in the garage that was used previously on a fish tank.

Hole was bigger than what I originally planned to make, but the scrap pvc bucket came in handy as usual. The light snaps right into a 1" to 3/4" reducer.

Add a bit of hot glue....
