The KCs were as advertised, but the Amazon website said they came with a harness and relay. I checked the KC website and they said it came with a DIY harness (read 12’ of wire and a switch.) I ordered them, because I prefer to make my own harness anyways. When they arrived, sure enough, no relay or harness; I wrote an email to Amazon telling them that their ad for these was misleading. Amazon sent me a credit for $12. These lights are getting cheaper all the time.

Off road lights, like the ones I added to the roller fairlead are illegal on road and in some states (WA, I think) they need to be covered. Besides, the lenses are glass, so I might as well wait until I’m off road to break them.
[The real reason the covers are on is because I put the lights on just for an excuse to run the old school KC Smiley light covers.]
I had the covers on my fogs just for sh*@ and giggles. My fog lights are street legal, yeah that’s the ticket, the fog lights and headlights are all factory equipment officer.
If you want to upgrade your lighting I think your best first step is to upgrade the factory headlights. The factory sealed beams really bring the suck.

The conversion to H4 is the best thing you can do IMHO.
Next, if your fogs are factory switch up to KC HiLiTES SlimLites. Stick with a fog pattern and point it correctly, under your headlight pattern, and you’ll have no problems. Don’t run the covers or the grills or your advertising to thieves and LEOs that it is something other than stock. DON’T use the factory fog light wiring; it is not even adequate to the task for the factory fog lights. As a matter of fact, if you just upgrade your wiring and use a fog light relay you’d get an easy 25% more light, or more, from your factory fog lights. If you are interested, let me know and I’ll post up you the wiring diagram.

That'd be great. My lights were cut when I bought it, and I wired them back into the factory fog lines. The brightness was less than impressive, and you can't have the brights on at the same time.
I think I'm going to eventually need to upgrade my alternator and add a second battery somewhere (I have AC so it could be annoying). I already have a CB, and once I get my license I'll be throwing a Yaesu 857 or something in there. I also plan on a winch, compressor, inverter, and a computer (for internet/gps/blu-ray/radio/cameras ect...)
