I need advice on how to seperate the married transfer case from the auto tranny for a 1897 Toyota. The unit is out of the truck. I'm plan on scrapping the tranny and selling part of the transfer case.

As far as I know, a married Toyota married t/c is used for automatic transmisions and is sought after for making doubler T-cases for JKs. I was told by Craig at PAW that they go for better than $100. I don't need it. I'm just trying to break even on a parts rig that I bought.

Well I may be in the market, as I'm wanting to double my TC, not sure when, yet but my buddy has another 231 he said we might be able to use. I'll keep ya posted and hope you can do the same.

No info. Just hear-say from Craig at PAW. I can't find anything on the internet about how to tear it a part. I pulled the bolts but the mating surface looks really tight. I hate to hit it too hard with my big hammer to break the seal incase there is something else holding it together.

Park is in the t case not the trans. If you pull the pan off the pan you'll see the rod going back into the case. It needs to be disconnected to get the case off.

I've never heard of a doubled using that t case. Me thinks Craig is mistaken since that is easily the biggest pile of steaming crap t case known to exist. Park can't be in the trans since the case relies on hydraulic pressure to keep high range engaged...

Thanks WT. I'll have my son tear it apart for the education and the aluminum. Graham, I'll save you the module things in the tranny if you still want them.

Check the spline count on the rear yoke, I might have use for it.
