Hey guys I never updated this thread once the bumper was done.

To bad now I need a new transfer case, or I need to rebuild mine.

I also have been working on the project car more than the jeep as of lately.

The car is actually a 2.0L 8V that we are building. The intake and all the pipping were made from scratch. (I work at a machine shop). Whats awesome is were using a helicopter blow off valve on the car.

The hardest part is getting the skid late off while holding up everything else under there.

Is it really a swap or are you going to rebuild it? That's a piece of cake too.

Well I have been thinking about swapping in a 242 ever since last winter but prob just get a 231 somewhere local and swap it in.

I'm know that you can get better T-case than the 231 but I love mine and have never had any problems with it in the 5-6 years I've had it and I run the Piss out of it along with it being my dd.

I picked up this 2005 tj se localy and have been on the lookout for some stuff for it.

I need to make it to a meeting and get involved with the 4x4 scene.

Step one... take the 'floaties' off of the front bumper.

Yeah I already took those terrible things off I put my 7:hids on the bumper also but haven't wired them in yet. Is there a switch that fits in the dash factory like for fogs? I don't really want to hack this jeep up.

'05 TJ factory fog light switch was on the light stalk... You can buy an OEM replacement for about $45 IIRC, and you should be able to poke around by the front fender/grill area and find the bundled factory wires for the fog lights. Pop a relay in the fuse box, connect your lights to the factory wires, and it should be clean as a whistle.

That said, from what I remember, (Lee or TJDave probably know more about this than I do) there is a lot of concern over the factory fog light circuit load capacity. Do some research on the subject and you'll probably be able to figure out if your lights will be OK or not on the factory circuit. Otherwise you may end up hunting down a rocker switch or something to fit in the dash somewhere and wiring them in the old fashioned way...

HIDs are typically only 35W so you'd think that the factory wiring would be 5x5.

The factory set up runs the fogs thru the switch , not a relay. What I did was use the factory wiring to energize a relay to my aftermarket fogs. Even doing this with stock fogs gives something like a 20% improvement. If your Jeep has the factory wiring for fogs (it probably does) that would be a clean way to do it. If you want it clean, but cheaper, take a look at Daystar switches and the TJ switch panel. Mine here has the blue switch for my KC Beams and the Red switch energizes my winch solenoids (the winch control switch is down where the ashtray goes.)

well I didn't find any factory wiring anywhere in the engine bay or behind the bumper for that matter, but that's alright since my lights are going up on the window frame. I ordered a 2"bb and some little stuff so that it actually become somewhat capable. I REALLY need to find some 31x10.5x15 tires though. My old jeep on A/T got around everywhere so I will probably go with those again once I get some more money.

Ill post some pictures on Tuesday when I install everything (minus the lift till I get tires)

My TJ did not come with fog lights from the factory. Sometimes you get lucky and the wiring is already there for the lights, like Toby mentioned. In my case they were not. I bought KC Daylighters for my bumper and just used the wiring that came with them. I put the switch in the same spot that Lee has his winch switch. Good place for switches if your Jeep is a non-ashtray model.

I broke a Daylighter off wheeling, and they are so bright I never used them. I think that is where my ARB switches will end up.

Update: New bumper, lights are on, lift and tires are on also!

Swing it by the shop and I'll fix that front bumper for you...

what do you mean? That dumb plating they put on the top?
