Hello, My name is Bill. I am the proud owner of an ongoing 1992 XJ project I picked up about a year ago. I have lived in Benton City for 3 years and I am a Backhoe Operator for Cascade Natural Gas corp. I am not new to offroading having owned scouts, a wrangler, full size Cherokee chief, multiple trucks and atvs in the past, but my XJ is the first that I have started from ground up and am trying do most work myself( with the help of my two daughters and funding from my wife). I saw the peak putters badge on a wrangler while doing our gas line surveys in the tricities. came home and looked the club up and like what I see. I hope to be able to catch up with some members and make some runs soon. XJ has 4.5" lift,31" tires, in the process of fabricating front and rear bumpers and looking for 8.8" rear axle to start swapping and gear reduction lockers. other than that slowly replacing parts that are worn to make a sound vehicle.

Sometimes that's hard flying blind, because we see things differently, for instance I have a button that is Upload picture that you don't yet have...
So we'll go back to the basic route as I remember it...
Up above this very box we type in you have an Img (Image) shortcut button that you'll bypass after you get used to the code method, mostly learned by cut and paste. Click that button and you get this
[img]
Now%20place%20the%20URL%20or%20Internet%20location%20(flicker,%20photobucket,%20another%20website)%20of%20your%20picture%20that%20you%20wish%20to%20share,%20and%20close%20it%20by%20adding%20a%20slash%20before%20IMG%20as%20in[/img]
for each picture you want to share. Another way to figure it out is using the quote button on other threads with pictures to see the code that makes their pics work and copy paste and modify that before submitting your post.
That should have you thoroughly confused or at least clear as mud, here is a picture of my screen, I'm betting you don't have that Upload picture button, I hope that helps...

I have quite a few pics of my jeep stored on my computer, is there a way to just add them by copy and paste or do I have to put them on photobucket or separate website?[/img]

You will have to host them on the web. Easiest is probably with a google plus account which you already have if you have an android phone or a gmail acccount.
Welcome!!!

Cool Jeep. . .fair number of XJs around here. . .
Why are you looking for an 8.8? Going to bigger tires? Have a D35 and need to get it to the curb?
Pics of the bumper builds?
Keep your eyes open for meetings/runs!!

yes got a dana 35, just want a little stronger diff in the rear and have read its a good swap for strength and also discs brakes on certain years. may go to 33" tires someday but for now tire size is good. I am amazed what I have taken it through without lockers and 31"s. cant wait to get locked up front at least to see the improvement in offroad ability. been told and read not to soak money into the D35.

6 States has the medium size that I've used.
Or did you mean the cleavis mounts, for a screw pin shackle?

Harbor Freight usually has some.

thanks for the compliments, bumper isn't perfect but not bad for my first one. I am sure I will change things as time goes along. I do plan on putting welded D rings. looked for them at ranch and home but didn't see them last time I was in there. I will try 6 states or harbor freight thanks for the suggestions!

when do meetings happen and at what location? do you need to be invited or is it ok to come check it out and meet the members? I have a pretty crazy work schedule and with kids in sports it can be tough but would like to stop in on one and at least introduce myself in person.
