Region 4 Meeting

Postby Grumpy » Wed Jan 09, 2008 1:39 pm

Had the monthly meeting at Conner's last night. Lots of discussion on many topics. The biggies are as follows:

1-Region 4 is going to bid for PNW Winter Convention in 2010. It's the 50th anniversary party. It was approved to make arrangements with the Clarion Motel in Yakima to have it there. Also are looking for suggestions for a convention theme.

2-"Pick Up A Mountain". This would be R4's equivalent of "Operation Shore Patrol" that wet siders do every year. Pick an area and go do fall house cleaning, so to speak. There's enough of us over here that, on a 2 day stint, we could make a big deal out of it, I think.

3-Maps are out for the Wenas Cooperative Road Management Area. DNR technically is not in the map business, but does get help with these. R4 will be kicking is to help defray costs, and I recommend we do as well. Money can't go directly to DNR as a donation, as it will vanish into the general fund and not get spent on maps! If the Club would like to follow up on this, I'll get info.

when the all wheelers off road club did a clean up they made somehwere around $8,000 available to DNR in funding for all of our volunteer time. I am not sure if this applies to what you are talking about

That is, I believe, the plan. I'll be annoyed if it isn't :!:
