Rust Delete Option on Scout II

Okay, so we have a fella in town with a small rust issue on his SII. No, not Steve. We got one without the optional factory rust. Nick Osiek has his rig somewhere on the wet side for some work, but the old boy doing it can't get to the floors until fall :curse: So, Nick would like to get some recommendations on who over here would be good to do the work. He has replacement panels, so that isn't an issue. All input is welcome

Just got an e-mail from Nick. David, he's unable to respond on the site yet. Can you help?? He wants to talk to '79 about the welding on his rig. Thanks...

Is his username NickO? I've activated his account already so he should be able to post.

If he still can't post guess I would need to know what happens when he tries to post or if he receives some type of error message.

OTAY!!! I work now.

Sorry I took so long to get back to you, but I just managed to get logged in to this site.

I don't have any pictures of the rusty parts. However, I can describe what needs to be done:

1. Driver's floor is badly rusted along the seam with the rocker. I have new sheetmetal plus a new driver's/front body mount.

2. Outer rockers on both sides need to be replaced. Again, I have new sheetmetal.

3. We'll have to take a look at the driver's inner rocker.

4. I need to patch lower rear quarters, just behind the door. I have the patches.

I am looking for a structurally sound vehicle, not a show truck. Let me know what you think. Thanks.

Cool. Bet Nick's ready to get goin' :D Hope you guys don't run into any other issues...Nick, did you go out to the yard, or do you need me to go pry those latches off that Scout :?:

Since I have no idea where the yard is, I will at the very least need directions. Would love to have some company.

79 Chevy has the Scout, and I suspect is making big holes out of little holes by now. Really looking forward to getting this done. I be psyched! :D
