Rear End Question
Hi do any of you know where I can get a AMC Model 20 axle tubes welded to center section ? rear end is out of my jeep right now as I'm doing a 4" lift thought it would be easier to do out than in. Thanks

I have shims to change the angle of the pinion, what I'm after is to keep the tubes in the center section and I have seen these things come apart. I'm running a 350 chev.I have 1piece axles. Just thought if anybody knows anyone that can do this local. I know a guy in Spokane that can do it but he's always busy and take a long time.
Thank's

See that changes things a bit, your post sounded off...
To do it ''right'' you'll need some NIrod and pre/post heat on the cast so it doesn't crack as it shrinks back. I've seen some of them welded up with a bit of preheat and a standard mig but those included a truss so there was a LOT of weld surface to make it reliably strong.
I'm fairly certain there are guys on the board that can do it, you just gotta come up with the right bribe.

Thanks White trash, The key words "do it right" to do it right would have been to keep looking for a D 44 out of a Scout II looked for over a year. I have had this thing since 2004 a Divorce put it on hold till last year, I would like to get it trail ready so I'm not a bother on the trails. the first time I came to the Tricities I have moved back here 3 times, I had a 67 Jeepster bone stock and I stop at a 7-11 a couple parked next to me in little yellow flattie and invited me to join them on a PP trail ride, nice people never forgot about it. I hope to become a member," you guys do great things" and this forum is so much intertanment as well as information, not looking for some one to do this for nothing,I can wash windows, polish wheels, put in spark plugs, run errands or pay cash. Thanks "have a great day"

I know for a fact there's a Scout II D44 laying out at Pasco Auto Wrecking. I took it out there. I have no idea what gears, but you'd likely need to change 'em anyway. Had to trade it for the Izuzu 44 that's in Steve's Scout. Go see John out there, or PM him. He's on here as FJ John.
