what's the deal with wrangler windshields

2 months a wrangler owner and my windshield already has 2 stars and a monster crack making its way across the bottom :( It does add character though! I noticed the bug shield on iaccocca's Rubi--I wonder if that helps? Anyway, just wondering where to get a new one this spring without taking it in the shorts. Maybe I'll wait till I can't see through it anymore if this is pretty common.

Good news is because it is a flat piece of glass, it does not cost as much as other windshields. $100 bucks or so, I guess. Get used to it. It happens with a Wrangler.
If you think the bug shield helps, you can have mine. I took mine off (and promptly got a rock chip.) If you want it, let me know and I'll see if I can dig it and the hardware out.

^Thank you for the offer but I think deal with out one since windshields are not that spendy. I had one on my F-150 and now I remember how stuff used to fall in it and was hard to clean without removing it. And I still got a couple dinks. I appreciate it though.

Call Steve. I think he does pretty good on glass...

I replace one every 2 years it seems. Where's a good place in Tri-Cities to go? I've paid about $180 both times for a new windshield installed.

Don't know, but my travelin' crack grew another 2" today from the ice. I'm going to need a new one when it reaches the drivers side! :(

Shameless plug there. Sorry, sometimes I can't help myself  IIRC, he babbled something about 80 bucks, but that's not installed, just the glass. If I judge correctly from your posts, that shouldn't be a problem :)

I'll have to check with Steve too. I'm not sure how to go about installing one though on my own.

That was one of my left handed compliments  Got a hunch you won't have a problem doing it. Not sure i have the patience, myself, but U avoid paying out to have work done if I can do it :!: I'm cheap, but not easy
