relocating locker pumps?

Postby Dale » Wed Mar 11, 2009 10:11 pm

I am wanting to relocate my locker pumps from under the jeep to under the hood. Have any of you rubicon owners done this yet? and if so how hard was it to do? any info would be appreciated.

I haven't (and I think Toby and I are the only other Rubi owners around here), but you can search http://www.rubiconownersforum.com and find quite a few write ups on it. Some guys move the pumps under the hood into the unused ABS tray (I'm saving that spot for my 12 volt air compressor) other guys move them under the seat. I did a tummy tuck and so mine are a bit more protected under the Jeep than they were stone cold stock, but I worry about them everytime I cross ice covered water. Have you done a tummy tuck; aka belly up skid on your Rubicon?
Okay, we're a little crazy to have a Duramax for a daily driver. But if we go off our meds, we might wind up in a Prius.

It's very simple, just a matter of keeping the wiring connections straight for the respective extensions, and then splicing into the vacuum system to again extend things up to the new location. Took the better part of an hour from start to finish, and I consider it a wise modification.
Yep, I've wheeled one of those, too...
