NOVA - 2011 Grant Standings

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Recreation & Conservation Funding Board met on June 22 and 23 addressing their business reports which included reviewing the NOVA Advisory Committees recommendations for the fiscal year 2012.

There were 30 off-road/ motorized Maintenance and Operation (M&O) grant requests of $4.0 million with a total of $3.9 million available through the motor vehicle fuel tax and ORV permit user fee. Education and Enforcement (E&E) had 21 requests, this catergory is a combination of motorized/nonmotorized/nonhighway - a total $2.4 million in requests and a total revenue availablility of $1.7 million.

The attachments reflect - an overview of the state grant funding program; reasoning for the requested NOVA Plan timeframe to be extended; update on the legislature and state budget; addressing several policy issues before the RCO board; and the NOVA motorized recreation ranked requests only; if you would like to review the non-motorized and non highway categories please contact me.

If you have any questions please feel free to contact me at any time.
