Dana 44 axles shafts

Postby rennat_2006 » Sat Feb 01, 2014 10:50 pm

Looking for a set of replacement axle shafts for my 79 Ford high pinion dana 44. Broke both ujoints last weekend out at Weber canyon and spread and or busted the ears off of the shafts.

A set of stockers would be great because this axle will be put up for sale after getting put back together...Its time for a dana 60!

Front axle ujoints on both sides blew up and the drivers side wadded up before i could catch it which pulled both of the balljoints apart. Tierod tube and brake line were the only thing keeping the knuckle out assembly remotely close to the rig at that point, Gonna have to get a new brakeline made up at J&L hydraulics and get a new tierod made up, Kinda surprised it bent being .250 wall DOM tube.

That did not look like an easy recovery. Were you trying to get unstuck when it popped or flying along like them Duke boys?
