Stumbled across something new

Postby bobracing » Sat May 21, 2011 5:54 pm

This was being "stored" at a friends house. After shooting my mouth off he asked the owner and the owner excepted my stupid offer and now I own it.
During the conversation the Jeep is suppose to have a blown head gasket (220k) but we started looking and things didn't add up. So in great hillbilly style I drove it home. On the way we picked up some spark plugs, cap, rotor and a very needed valve cover gasket. After the platinum plugs were pulled and new copper plugs put in along with changing the cap and rotor, it actually ran halfway decent.

92 Wrangler, 4.0 H.O, AT and I believe all stock. Not abused but very neglected.

And just for Grumpy. Yes, that is 4 scouts and if you look at the one above there is 2 more and 2 others floating around the place too.

Nice! The hard top and full doors fetch pretty good $$$. Maybe more than you paid for the whole thing. (Maybe means I don't know what you paid for it. :D )

Yea, he got a good deal.

So what's the issue with it? Why did the kid think the head gasket was toast?

Yes, I'm pretty sure the HT is worth atleast if not more than I paid.

Don't know, need to pick Chris' brain a little.
But do know that it was missing on number 2 if not more on the way home and really didn't like holding speed.

Limp it over and I'll do a compression test. That will tell the tale pretty quickly.

I'm sure that Grumpy will be in touch as soon as he stops shaking enough to type.

For some reason he likes scouts and a friends of his does too, so between the two they seem to collect them.
I'll see if he is interested in selling parts.

I just need a couple of small things. Door handles is the one thing I'm missing that really hurts. May need window regulators, too. They need to get working on them critters, and maybe get hooked p with the Binder Bench crew in Spokane. I haven't started to much of search for what I need yet, but it is time. He really has some treasure there 8)
