Dana 30 Diff Cover

Postby mattawajeep » Sat Dec 29, 2012 12:06 am

Anybody have an armored one they want to get rid of. Or suggestions for one?

Been looking at SOLID covers, they're cheap but ugly. Riddler stuff from Rokmen seems like it might be decent, but it's a bit more expensive.

I'm thinking now would be a good time to upgrade:

with as many d30 guys run on this board i would just cust up an extra cover or plate the current one....anything over 100 for a diff cover to me is a little crazy (unless it is used with a locker like the ox's)

Years ago, my brother bought a solid diff. cover for his model-20 through Leon Rosser. Several of the bolt holes were off mark by 1/8" or so. You might ask the supplier to guarantee fit and pay with a credit card.

There is not a lot of clearance between the front diff cover and track bar at full stuff. Most of the aftermarket diff covers stick out a little further than the stock cover. Something to keep in mind when shopping.

Yeah, it's not leaking, and it's not touching the ring gear. I suppose I could just beat out the dent, but I'm concerned about it being worse if I ever hit it again.

Adding plate to the current cover is an interesting idea, or some sort of lower guard.
