Good point, Peanut. Maybe Adam will show at the meeting and we can get things hashed out some more...

Okay, everyone's various schedules are playing into things here. Jim is out of town this weekend, and next weekend is testing for RGR. That little item will involve a fair number of us. So, unless Sunday after this is bad for us, maybe we can test Saturday and yank a truck Sunday. Otherwise, we're two more weeks out

Friends of Badger Mountain Thank You:
Dear Dave,
The Friends of Badger Mountain very much appreciates the Peak Putters for so ably managing removal of the truck from Badger ravine. The fact that you removed the truck so skillfully & with minimum damage is testimony to the group's great skill and good will. We look foward to working with you on different kinds of projects in the future.
Sharon Grant

From Washington Trails Association website:
Update! Truck vs. Trail
Posted by Kim Brown at Mar 06, 2009 10:20 AM | Permalink
In October, WTA’s Signpost blog featured a story about an illegal joyrider on Badger Mountain near the Tri-Cities, who got his truck stuck in a ravine next to the trail. Here's the update from Badger Mountain.
It was feared that more damage would result in traditional stuck-truck extraction, and a costly helicopter was thought the only way to remove the offending vehicle.
The Tri-Cities Herald reports that last week, volunteers from The Peak Putters off-roading club joined in a successful effort in pulling the truck out with minimal damage, considering the nature of the task. The club is planning on re-seeding the damaged areas.
"It was something they felt was important," said Adam Fyall, Benton County's community development coordinator. "They saw it as a kind of a black eye on their recreation and wanted to get involved and do something positive."
Throughout 2005, WTA volunteers worked hard in building a Badger Mountain hiking trail, home to one of Washington state's sagebrush areas, an eco-system that is getting smaller and smaller each year due to various development projects.
Thank you, Peak Putters!

Good deed on Badger
The Badger Mountain Centennial Preserve south of Richland is owned and managed by Benton County at the direction of the Benton County Park Board. The Board appreciates and encourages all responsible park users and groups.
The recent unsolicited effort by the Peak Putters four-wheel drive club to extract the stranded vehicle from a ravine on Badger Mountain is an example of a group rising to the occasion to perform a much needed community service. The Park Board thanks the Peak Putters for their help.
Benton County has seven formal "Partners in Parks" that lease property and/or assist in construction, maintenance, and operation of the eight parks in the Benton County system. Friends of Badger Mountain is one of these partners and has been an invaluable ally in the acquisition and maintenance of the Badger Preserve. The other Partners include the Native Plant Society, the Purple Sage Riders, the Rattlesnake Ridge Riders, the Tapteal Greenway Association, the Tri-City Model Airplane Association, and the Tri-Cities Shooting Association.
The Park Board and the community owe all of the Partners in Parks gratitude for their volunteer efforts and their advocacy for parks and recreation.

Yep, I've wheeled one of those, too...

I caught that too. I think they are referencing the Friends of Badger Mountain club (although I do not think the author of that particular blurb understands that.)
Okay, we're a little crazy to have a Duramax for a daily driver. But if we go off our meds, we might wind up in a Prius.
